Master Planning Programme · Autumn 2026 Cohort
Plan Better.
Train Better.
Keep Your Players Available.
Great planning doesn't happen by chance. It comes from understanding why different periodisation models exist, when each should be applied, and how to choose the right approach for your environment.
Five live sessions. Four periodisation models. A framework for choosing the right approach. The judgement to decide what best fits your context.
The Challenge
Most Teams Don't Struggle Because Players Aren't Working Hard Enough
They struggle because their training schedules lack structure, clarity and consistency.
Coaches are expected to deliver results but often don't have the right framework to rely on, resulting in:
Better planning changes everything.
The Programme
A Complete Framework for
Planning & Periodisation in Football
This programme gives you a clear structure for planning and periodisation, across the season and within the week, and how to apply it to your own environment.
What You Get
Clarity. Structure. Confidence in your planning.
Course Structure
Five Sessions. Four Models. One Framework.
Five live sessions, each building on the framework introduced in Foundation: Planning & Periodisation.
Football Periodisation
Learn when Football Periodisation is the right planning model for your environment, and how to apply its principles - built on Damian's interpretation of Raymond Verheijen's approach.
Tactical Periodisation
Learn when a tactically-led planning model best serves your squad, and how to structure training around your team's identity - built on Damian's interpretation of Vítor Frade's approach.
British Periodisation
How to apply Football Periodisation principles within weekly structures that start earlier, with built-in recovery days and academy education days to plan around.
Part-Time Periodisation
How to apply Football Periodisation principles when training frequency is determined by player availability - two or three sessions a week, using six-week cycles to maintain structure and progression.
Master Planning Review
Review all four models against the planning principles behind them, and develop the judgement to decide which is right for your coaching context.
Foundation:
Planning &
Periodisation
The Master Planning Programme builds on the principles introduced during the Foundation: Planning & Periodisation course. This should be completed before the cohort begins on 15 September.

What Coaches and Players Say
The Results of Better Planning & Periodisation
"Under Damian's management, I played 37 out of 38 Premier League games, something I have not been able to achieve since. I am a big believer in his methodology and the energy he brings."
Vincent Kompany
Manchester City, Anderlecht, Bayern Munich and Belgium
"Damian has had a huge impact on the success of Coach Education in Wales over the years and we still draw upon his knowledge and pay reference to his approach to training on all of our courses."
Osian Roberts
Technical Director, FA Wales & Morocco · Head of Development, Como 1907
"Damian introduced his 'blueprint' of how we should train that kept every player injury-free and feeling fantastic. Our performances reflected that, particularly at the end of the season. As soon as we moved away from that it started to go wrong."
Ryan Shawcross
Former Stoke City Captain
